Bus wheelchair securement takes longer when the schedule is already late

The first time I got behind on a route with a wheelchair boarding, I learned how useless it is to rush that part. Everybody on the bus can feel the schedule slipping, but the straps still have to be right and the chair still has to sit where it is supposed to sit.
