How to keep a group tour on schedule when guests keep running late

Late guests are the part of tour ops that still makes my day messy. Ten minutes at hotel pickup becomes twenty at the restroom stop, then lunch calls asking where the group is. I have had better luck giving the next meeting time before people step off the bus, not after they scatter, and using one simple landmark instead of a paragraph of directions.
